The Early Years
The provision for children's development and learning is guided by the Early Years Foundation Stage (DfE 2012). Our provision reflects the four overarching principles of the Statutory Framework for the Early Years Foundation Stage.
02.
–
Child, relationships
Every child is a unique child who is constantly learning and can be resilient, capable, confident and self assured. Children learn to be strong and independent through positive relationships.
03.
–
development & learning
Children develop and learn in different ways and at different rates. The framework covers the education and care of all children in early years provision including children with special educational needs and disabilities.
04.
–
environment
Children learn and develop well in enabling environments, in which their experiences respond to their individual needs and there is a strong partnership between practitioners, parents and carers.
Parents
Splash & Dash recognises parents/carers as the first and most important educators of their children. All of the staff see themselves as partners with parents and carers in providing care and education for their children. There are many ways in which parents take part in making Splash & Dash a welcoming and stimulating place for children and parents, such as:
exchanging knowledge about their children's needs, activities, interests and progress with the staff;
contributing to the progress check at age two;
helping out at sessions;
sharing their own special interests with the children;
helping to provide and look after the equipment and materials used in the children's play activities;
being part of the management of Splash & Dash where appropriate;
taking part in events and informal discussions about the activities and curriculum we provide
joining in community activities in which we take part; and
building friendships with other parents in Splash & Dash.
TESTAMONIES
‘My daughter used to attend a nursery in Ealing which she didn’t really enjoy and didn’t want to go each day. This totally changed when I took her to splash and dash and she begun to enjoy her time at nursery and forged great bonds with her teachers. The teachers really care and have wonderful relationships with all the children. I am very fond of splash and dash and will always look back on it as a happy time in my child’s life.’

My daughter started at Splash & Dash a month or so after, she turned 2yrs old and has flourished immensely. She has thoroughly enjoyed her time at the pre-school. Being an only child and despite expectations, she settled instantly on the first and was particularly taken with her key person Emma from day 1.
The entire team at Splash & Dash are tremendously caring and supportive towards both the children and parents. All members of the team, are willing to talk about how your child is progressing and take-on any updates provided. This was lovely as I felt reassured that everyone knew about my daughter and were involved in the care and development, as a team.
As her key person, Emma has been exceptionally supportive, perceptive and caring towards her.
My daughter at times, has struggled with eating, in particular during breakfast & lunch club. Emma greatly supported us with this issue and helped us resolve it. Emma always provided feedback both pro-actively and reactively. My daughter always looks forward to seeing Emma and let her know what she has been up to! She loved to show Emma photos and her toys from him. Emma was always excited to talk about them with her too.
My daughter has particular enjoyed ‘getting messy’ which was one of my concerns. Before starting she disliked paint & sand etc…‘anything that would get her hands messy’ but after a few days into pre-school this changed and now she loves messy/creative play. She also loves being ‘snack helper’ andplaying in the outside area.
She recently has successfully potty trained. I feel we have shared this achievement with all of the staff at Splash & Dash in that they were all as happy as we were. As a family, we particularly enjoyed helping out with and attending the Splash & Dash fun day. It was well organised and we got to meet other parents.
I originally choose to send my daughter to Splash & Dash due to positive feedback from friends and family, its Ofsted rating and lastly the large play areas (both indoors and outdoors). I am really pleased with my decision - Splash & Dash offers a structured large variety of kid’s activities so no chance of the children getting bored.
Splash & Dash’s environment is warm and welcoming for children and parents alike. I would highly recommend Splash & Dash to parents and plan to no doubt send any future children I may have too.
Thank you so much Splash & Dash for looking after my daughter for the last year. Had it not been for us needing increased childcare due to re-starting work, we would have certainly stayed on.
With best wishes for the future and my kindest regards.

Dear Fatima, Tracy, Leila, Emma,
Thank you very much for making the nursery a lovely place to go to, for my daughter. For supporting her with what she needs and doing it with a positive and high energy you all have. She tells me about her key worker playing with her and her friends and how she makes them all laugh. She really loves coming and I’m sure she will miss you all and her friends, come September.

I have been so impressed with Splash and Dash from the outset. Everyone has managed to combine genuine warmth, a caring nature and playfulness with the formality of the EYFS curriculum and the written observations required. My son was slow to settle, but the staff were reassuring and patient, often having him attached to one of them for the majority of the session in the first few weeks. He has grown enormously in confidence during his time at Splash & Dash and the impact of what he has learned often comes out at home, where he’ll pretend to be a caterpillar or jumps in his cot like he would on a trampoline. I honestly think the biggest strength of Splash & Dash has got to be its staff and I would personally like to thank Tracy, Fatima, Emma, Layla, Khadijah and Samira who have all been just brilliant with him. I would recommend to anyone in the area!

We wanted to thank you as we approach the end of the year.
Our son has been with you since June 2017. The preschool was a great place for him to start to become independent. He was so attached to his mum and older sister and sometimes we do not believe it when he excitedly walks into the preschool without even saying goodbye! I also wanted to highly commend your efforts to continue to improve the setting and the resources. The change in your drop-off procedure which requested parents to stay in the hallway when dropping off the kids in the early morning was a great idea. Also, your Christmas Party was so special and memorable - we still play the videos of Santa handing out the presents.
We also appreciate your request for ideas for improvement. We filled in the questionnaire. We particularly like the staff retention as Liam and us got used to the carers. We would like to suggest that maintaining your carers would be ideal.
Also we want to express our gratitude for the honest, professional and patient approach towards potty training. When we tried to potty train Liam too soon, your feedback helped us decide that it was too soon. When we embarked on his potty training after he turned two, your support was great and very re-assuring. Thanks for your patience and help.
Our son will leave Splash and Dash more prepared to go to Fielding Nursery, more independent and for this we want to thank you.

Our son spent six happy months at Splash & Dash Preschool. We found the warm and caring environment to be the perfect bridge between home and starting formal nursery. The focus is on child-led play and learning, with a variety of play stations set up in the hall, from the home corner to an ICT table, that the children can move freely between. They’re also encouraged to spend time in the areas that they might not naturally gravitate towards, so we had the sense that all the fundamental learning bases were being covered. We received detailed feedback, observations and lovely photographs from our key worker, so had a good understanding of our child’s progress in relation to age-related expectations. Most importantly, our son was very happy coming to school each day and still talks about his teachers and friends at Splash and Dash with great fondness.

I just wanted to write a few lines to say a very BIG thank you.
We could not have chosen a better place for our son to go over the past few years, he has grown so much and loved coming to Splash and Dash.
The activities you plan for the children are really good, and the endless pictures and crafts that have come home over the years have often brought tears to my eyes as I can see the love that have gone into them.
Thank you for your patience, time and supporting me as a full time working Mum with an incredibly hectic lifestyle.
He is going to really miss you all and the team.
